The reconstruction of coastal structures of the Vanino–Kholmsk automobile and railway ferry service in the seaport of Vanino is organized to restore the operational characteristics of the ferry complex. According to the project, it is planned to reconstruct the frameworks of the linkspan bridges located at berths No. 14 and No. 14a. It will allow receiving CNF11CPD-LMPP-110/5 type vessels with a length of 131 m, a width of 20.32 m, a loaded draft of 6.6 m, an estimated capacity of 30 wagons or 71 motor vehicles, and with a passenger capacity of 150 people. - major repairs of the entrance ramp to the ferry pier between the abutments;
- major repairs of the building of the ferry crossing control center;
- replacement of external and internal utility networks;
- demolition of the passenger pavilion;
- demolition of the depth-gauge building and its replacement with a modular structure.

2nd stage:

- installation of a new head for berth No. 14a;
- installation of new mooring and fender facilities at berth No. 14a;
- replacement of the linkspan bridge with railway tracks to berth No. 14a;
- reconstruction of the coastal and sea abutments of berth No. 14a by using new technological solutions which involve formation of soil-cement mixtures in the body of the abutments using jet cementation technology, and replacement of the inter-anchored bulwark structure of the berth of the ferry pier with a gravity one;
