The reconstruction of coastal structures of the Vanino–Kholmsk automobile and railway ferry service in the seaport of Vanino involves:
1st stage:
- reconstruction of berth No. 14 of the ferry pier by using new technological solutions which involve formation of soil-cement mixtures in the berth body using jet cementation technology, and replacement of the inter-anchored bulwark structure of the ferry pier berth with a gravity one;
- installation of a new head for berth No. 14;
- installation of new mooring and fender facilities at berth No. 14;
- replacement of 2 linkspan bridges with railway tracks to berth No. 14;
- reconstruction of the coastal, intermediate and sea abutments of berth No. 14 by using new technological solutions which involve formation of soil-cement mixtures in the body of the abutments using jet cementation technology, and replacement of the inter-anchored bulwark structure of the abutments with a gravity one;
- major repairs of the entrance ramp to the ferry pier between the abutments;
- major repairs of the building of the ferry crossing control center;
- replacement of external and internal utility networks;
- demolition of the passenger pavilion;
- demolition of the depth-gauge building and its replacement with a modular structure.
2nd stage:
- reconstruction of berth No. 14a of the ferry pier by using new technological solutions which involve formation of soil-cement mixtures in the berth body using jet cementation technology, and replacement of the inter-anchored bulwark structure of the ferry pier berth with a gravity one;
- installation of a new head for berth No. 14a;
- installation of new mooring and fender facilities at berth No. 14a;
- replacement of the linkspan bridge with railway tracks to berth No. 14a;
- reconstruction of the coastal and sea abutments of berth No. 14a by using new technological solutions which involve formation of soil-cement mixtures in the body of the abutments using jet cementation technology, and replacement of the inter-anchored bulwark structure of the berth of the ferry pier with a gravity one;
- replacement of external and internal utility networks
The facility is planned to be commissioned in the 2nd quarter of 2025
