Tuapse VTS successfully passes an extraordinary inspection

After the implementation of technical re-equipment measures that resulted in changing of the control display modules pattern, replacing of the shore-based radars, software, AIS base station, VHF radio stations, meteorological sensors, server hardware and network equipment, TV and video surveillance system, energy supply and life supporting equipment, the Tuapse Vessel Traffic System (VTS) passed an extraordinary inspection by Rosmorrechflot.

Following the results of the inspection, FSUE “Rosmorport” received a new certificate of 20.12.2023 No. VTS-2/1-3314-2023 on conformity of the Tuapse VTS with the requirements of the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia of 23.07.2015 No. 226 for vessel traffic systems of the first category.

Since 2006, the Tuapse VTS has successfully undergone six shore-based facility inspections, and, following their results, the enterprise obtained relevant certificates on the conformity of the VTS with existing requirements imposed upon the production facilities and personnel.

The Tuapse VTS includes the VTS center and VTS site 2 located in the seaport of Tuapse, as well as remote VTS site 1 on mount Pauk.

Using the Tuapse VTS, the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch carries out:
- vessels detection on approaches to the Tuapse VTS coverage area, establishing communication with them, obtaining data about the vessel;
- transmission of navigation, operational and other information to vessels at the initiative of the operators of the Tuapse VTS or at the request of the vessel;
- assistance in navigation;
- organization and regulation of vessel traffic;
- vessel traffic control.

Every year, about 20,000 vessels are under control in the Tuapse VTS coverage area, including more than 1,500 transport vessels calling at the seaport of Tuapse and leaving it.
