Information on the seaport of Ust-Luga in the Register of Seaports of the Russian Federation amended

By Order of Rosmorrechflot No. ZD-371-r dated September 30, 2022, the information on the seaport of Ust-Luga in the Register of Seaports of the Russian Federation has been amended.

The amendments concern the inclusion of three berths: No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 of the mineral fertilizer storage and transshipment marine terminal - in the list of berths of the seaport of Ust-Luga. The berths were built and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2021. Vessels with a length of up to 235 m, a width of up to 32 m and a loaded draft of up to 14.2 m can be moored at berths No. 1 and No. 2, while vessels up to 185.1 m long, up to 23.7 m wide and with a loaded draft of no more than 10.1 m can be moored at berth No. 3. Vessels with a length of 118.7 m, a width of 16.7 m and a loaded draft of 6.4 m can also be moored to the root part of berth No. 3.

In order to ensure the safe approach of vessels to these berths of the FSUE “Rosmorport” marine terminal, dredging operations in the amount of more than 1.5 million cubic meters of seized bottom soil were carried out in the period from September 2019 to November 2020, bringing the depths up to 17.2 m on an area of 17.5 ha – the operational water area of berth No. 1 and maneuvering water areas of berths No. 1 and No. 2, as well as bringing depths up to 9-12.8 m on an area of 6.9 ha – the operational water area of berth No. 3.

The constructed operating and maneuvering water areas of the berths of the mineral fertilizer storage and transshipment marine terminal in the seaport of Ust-Luga with a total area of 24.4 ha were put into operation in accordance with the permission of Rosmorrechflot.

The implementation of the project, which was stipulated in the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the Main Infrastructure, by the enterprise in the seaport of Ust-Luga allowed to ensure the safe approach of vessels to the berths of the new marine terminal.

Due to the increase in the number of berths, the total length of the berthing wall in the seaport of Ust-Luga has increased by 885.4 m and is currently almost 8.2 km.

Therefore, by Order of Rosmorrechflot, the main technical characteristics of the seaport, including the capacity of cargo terminals, were amended.

In addition, the amendments have clarified the names of individual marine operators operating in the seaport of Ust-Luga.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch has 4 berths in the seaport of Ust-Luga, three of which being leased to the operators of marine terminals in accordance with the established procedure, and one being used by the branch to organize safe anchorage of vessels.

At the end of 9 months of 2022, almost 4.2 million tons of cargo were transshipped at the berths of the branch in the seaport of Ust-Luga, which is 4.7 % of the total volume of cargo transshipment in the seaport.
