General Chernyakhovsky ferry conducts the first sea cargo transportation

The General Chernyakhovsky sea ferry arrived safely at the seaport of Ust-Luga on October 8, 2022, having made its first freight voyage on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad ferry line.

In the celebration of the ferry's successful arrival at the seaport of Ust-Luga, Alexander Strelnikov, Acting Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch, congratulated the crew of the vessel on the completion of their first voyage on board the ferry and wished them success in undertaking the strategic mission of ensuring continuous transport communication with the Kaliningrad Region, which makes a huge contribution to the development of Russian marine transport.

The ferry shipped 74 units of rolling equipment to the seaport of Ust-Luga in 40 hours.

The new General Chernyakhovsky sea ferry is expected to increase the total cargo turnover on the ferry line by 25 %.

On the same day, having taken on board 99 units of rolling equipment, the vessel headed to the seaport of Kaliningrad.

The ferry is planned to have up to 2 voyages a week.
