Employees of the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" participate in a patriotic sailing trip along the route Kaliningrad – Baltiysk

From May, 8, to May, 9, employees of the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport", together with yachtsmen of the Kaliningrad Region, took part in a patriotic sailing trip through the Kaliningrad Bay from Kaliningrad to Baltiysk, dedicated to the memory of the Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.

70 people took part in the trip, including employees of the Kaliningrad Department and crew members of 12 yachts. The team of the Kaliningrad rowing department on a sailing and rowing vessel (YAL-6) also took part in this trip.

In Baltiysk, on the Baltic Spit, participants of the trip laid flowers at the mass grave of soldiers who died in the battles for Pillau (Baltiysk). At the ceremony of laying flowers, all who were present honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a minute of silence.

As part of the sailing trip, the second annual sailing regatta for the Cup of FSUE "Rosmorport" also took place.

The regatta was one-staged and the prizes were played in three starting groups. The race took place in the water area of the Kaliningrad Bay at a distance of 24 miles.

In the first group of vessels consisted of yachts with more than 10 meters length, the yacht Baltika lead by Sergei Evchenko, head of the pilot service of the Kaliningrad Department, took the second place.

In the second group of vessels, which consisted of yachts from 8 to 10 meters length with a racing score, the yacht Tesla under the control of Denis Turashvili, the head of the reception center sector, the chief specialist of the communications and electric radio navigation service of the Kaliningrad Department, and other crew members of the yacht, which consisted primarily of employees of the Kaliningrad Department, took the third place.
