The Moskva icebreaker of FSUE “Rosmorport” performed the first pilotage by the method of leadership in the winter navigation season 2023-2024 – provided assistance of the Sasko Aniva motor vessel to the entrance of the seaport of Magadan.

The Moskva icebreaker, which arrived on duty at the end of December 2023, previously provided assistance for the vessels entering the water area of Nagayev Bay and leaving it only by the method of issuing recommendations due to the weather conditions.

Currently, icebreaking assistance is carried out by vessels of FSUE “Rosmorport” in the water areas of 16 freezing seaports of Russia and on the approaches to them. The enterprise's icebreaking fleet includes 34 icebreakers and ice-class tugs.

The diesel-electric icebreaker Moskva of Icebreaker6 ice class is a modern and highly automated 16 MW propeller-driven vessel, which successfully operates during the winter navigation periods in the Far East Basin. The icebreaker was built at the Baltic Plant in St. Petersburg by order of FSUE “Rosmorport” and was put into operation in December 2008. It is the lead vessel in a series of two vessels of the 21900 project.
