Solemn Ceremony of Two Dredgers’ Keels Laying

On 23 December 2014 a solemn ceremony of keel laying of two dredgers with the volume of holds of 1000 m3 took place at JSC “Krasnoe Sormovo Plant” dockyard (Nizhny Novgorod).

Representatives of FSUE “Rosmorport” including Deputy General Director for Fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport” Sergey Kurov and Head of Fleet Development and Construction Department of FSUE “Rosmorport” Vladimir Shtrambrand, and also General Director of JSC “Krasnoe Sormovo Plant” Nikolay Zharkov and Executive Director of MNP Group Vadim Malov took part in the keel laying ceremony.

FSUE “Rosmorport” is the construction project owner of three dredgers that are planned to be used in the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg, Tuapse and Ust-Luga seaport waters and on approaches to them in order to maintain the depths established to insure safe navigation. Earlier in November 2014 the kiel of the main dredger with the volume of holds of 1000 m3 was laid.

According to the construction project, the vessels will have the necessary efficient equipment for dredging corresponding to the climatic conditions of the region where they are going to be used. To widen the field of application of the vessel during dredging with sharp sand and gravel and in limited areas near piers and berths, it is planned to equip all the vessels of this line with multi-functional suspended deep-well dredging pump of «DOP 200» type with a sealed, wearproof, space-saving dredging pump of high-capacity.
