All types of delivered shipboard waste can be accepted: garbage according to the categories defined by the Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Garbage from Ships (Annex V to the MARPOL 73/78 Convention), oil-containing and waste water (except ballast water).
The enterprise conducts the activities on collection and transportation of waste of I-IV hazard classes, neutralization of waste of III-IV hazard classes on its own in the corresponding seaports in strict accordance with the License for Collection, Transportation, Processing, Utilization, Neutralization and Disposal of Hazardous Waste of I–IV classes No. L020-00113-77/00031378 of 20.02.2008, issued by the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) Department for the Central Federal District.
The following FSUE "Rosmorport" local branches render ecological services in the corresponding seaports:
- Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch (seaport of Taganrog);
- Far Eastern Basin Branch (seaports of Vladivostok, Vostochny and Nakhodka);
- North-Eastern Basin Branch (seaports of Magadan and Vanino);
- North-Western Basin Branch (seaports Big Port Saint Petersburg and Ust-Luga).
While rendering ecological services, FSUE “Rosmorport” carries out acceptance (delivery and removal of floating craft, provision of containers for waste collection, transshipment operations, hook-up, hook-off, etc.), transportation to the site of placement or processing of collected shipboard waste.
In order to provide the mentioned services, FSUE "Rosmorport" disposes of qualified personnel having large experience in treatment of wastes, and also necessary equipment and technical means, or engages professional certified organizations.
Specialized organizations engaged by FSUE “Rosmorport” to provide environmental services in seaports are required to have:
- a valid license for activities related to the collection, transportation, processing, neutralization, placement of waste of I-IV hazard classes, in particular, all types of work necessary for handling shipboard waste;
- transport vehicles, including vessels, equipment and specialized facilities, premises that belong to them on the basis of the right of ownership or on other legal grounds, necessary for performing work;
- personnel with professional training in waste management confirmed by certificates for the right to work with waste of I-IV hazard classes.
Specialists of FSUE “Rosmorport” carry out constant quality control of the environmental services provided in seaports, both those performed by the enterprise’s forces and technical means, and those involving specialized licensed organizations.
