Onego Shipyard hands over the azimuth tugboat "Pomor" to FSUE "Rosmorport"

"Pomor", the azimuth tugboat of the ASD 3413 Ice Arc5 project, was built for the Arkhangelsk Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport", its keel being laid down at the Onego Shipyard on May 15, 2020. The solemn ceremony of launching the tugboat took place on May 14, 2021. After completion of construction and sea trials, the tugboat was handed over to the customer in the seaport of Belomorsk. For handling the vessel, a special project was developed and a pontoon was built in order to pass the tugboat to Belomorsk along the inland waters of the national deep-sea system of Russia. From Belomorsk to Arkhangelsk, the tugboat went under its own power.

A vessel with a reinforced hull has good towing characteristics and maneuverability. It is designed to provide mooring operations, delivery and removal of pilots during the inter-navigation period, icebreaking assistance for vessels in the seaports of Arkhangelsk and Sabetta, as well as towing and rescue operations.
