FSUE “Rosmorport” summarizes the results of "My Port" project in 2021

FSUE "Rosmorport" summarizes the results of the annual social career guidance project "My Port", which in 2021 was attended by 135 children from various parts of our country. 32 young sailors took part in the specialized shift "To the dream under sails" in the ICC "Artek", 12 schoolchildren received state-funded places in the RCC "Okean", while another 73 schoolchildren studied the basics of maritime professions as part of "Wind of distant wanderings" shift in the RCC "Orlyonok". 18 winners of the "My Port 2020" project, who were not allowed to participate in last year's shifts due to the pandemic situation, were also able to undergo training this year under specialized marine programs in the largest children's centers in the country.

For the whole history of the project 963 teenagers took part in the specialized shifts of FSUE "Rosmorport" in total.

This year the participants in the specialized program of FSUE "Rosmorport" "To the dream under sails" in the ICC "Artek" on the basis of the children's camp "Rechnoy" (sixth shift, May 15 - June 4) became the pioneers of the project. During the shift, young sailors managed to successfully master new areas of their choice: "Event Marketing", "Sounder for depth measurement", "Data transfer using Morse alphabet", "Innovative shipbuilding", "Entertaining navigation" and "Young meteorologist".

The highlight of the specialized program was the Project Festival, at which the participants presented their own projects made under the guidance of experienced teachers - navigation instruments, echo sounder and vessel models, and also performed a real Sevastopol waltz. The largest event for the participants was the annual naval regatta for the FSUE “Rosmorport” Cup, which is set of complex marine competitions in such disciplines as tug of war, knitting sea knots, handling flag semaphore and line song.

The second team of young sailors went to the coast of a unique natural object - the Sea of Japan - to study the basics of maritime affairs under the program of the All-Russian Children's Center "Okean" "On the "seas" around the Earth" (seventh shift, May 28 - June 17).

Through search and research activities in the context of the story and role-playing game, the shift participants got acquainted with the history of great geographical discoveries, Russian circumnavigations and iconic sea expeditions. Guided by skilled professionals of the "Okeanskaya Eskadra" squad, the children mastered the rigging and knitting technique of sea knots, got acquainted with sea navigation, learnt how to sail on the rowing and sailing vessel "YaL-6" and on the "Optimist" class dinghy, learnt drill practice, as well as self-organization in unfamiliar situations.

This year, the career guidance project "My Port" ended with the fascinating thematic program of FSUE "Rosmorport" in the children's center "Orlyonok" "Wind of distant wanderings" (seventh shift, June 23 - July 13). For three weeks, young researchers from the children's camp "Shtormovoy" got acquainted with maritime professions and traditions, received new knowledge regarding maritime history of Russia, created their own inventions, programmed, learned the marine painting, 2D modeling, robotics and much more.

For the first time in the history of the project, the children built their own sealed models of life-size dinghies and left for memory on the facade of the children's center original images dedicated to the love of the sea, camp and the specialized project "My Port".

Following the successful mastering of the training courses, each participant presented his projects at the Solar Regatta and the Festival of Technical Creativity.

On the eve of the celebration of the birthdays of the largest children's centers of the country of the Black Sea Coast, the legendary three-masted frigate Khersones, raising its scarlet sails, embarked on a raid in the water area of the ICC "Artek" and RCC "Orlyonok". The children were also able to take photos against the background of the frigate, observe the onboard life and greet the crew, wishing good luck and seven feet under the keel to the sailors.

In memory of participating in maritime specialized shifts aimed at early professional orientation of children in the field of maritime activities, all winners of the "My Port" project received branded equipment from FSUE "Rosmorport", working notebooks, as well as products with the symbols of the enterprise. Birthday residents of the shift additionally received memorable gifts.

The final surveys at the end of the shift showed that on average about 35% of teenagers trained under the programs of FSUE "Rosmorport" seriously thought about getting an education in the maritime applied profile and port business, as well as making appropriate adjustments to their educational and professional route.

We wish all participants of the "My Port" project further success in creative, professional and educational life and seven feet under the keel, and also hope that the mastering of maritime specialized programs of FSUE "Rosmorport" will serve for the children not only an interesting experience, but also a start in a future career!
