Slavyanka yacht solemnly welcomed at the seaport of Vladivostok

On November 9, 2021, a welcoming ceremony for the Slavyanka yacht was held in the seaport of Vladivostok.

Evgeniy Pankratov, Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch, representatives of the Vladivostok City Duma, Denis Burov, rector of the MSU named after adm. G.I. Nevelskoy, as well as cadets of the university participated in the ceremony.

The musical accompaniment to the solemn welcome, provided by a professional orchestra of the Far East Basin Branch directed by Anatoliy Yakimenko, performed the National Anthem of the Russian Federation and other musical compositions.

Captain of the vessel Anatoly Shtanko reported to Denis Burov, rector of the MSU named after adm. G.I. Nevelskoy, on the yacht's arrival at the destination seaport. After the ceremony, the guests of honor attending the event were able to come aboard the yacht for a tour.

The Slavyanka yacht has covered more than 20.2 thousand nautical miles from the seaport of Marmaris (Turkey) across two oceans to the seaport of Vladivostok. The voyage took place in different weather conditions and lasted 320 days, stays in the seaports included.

In 2022 navigation period, after scheduled repairs and maintenance, the Slavyanka yacht will be used for local history cruises in the sea regions of Primorye, Sakhalin, Kurils, Kamchatka and the Commander Islands, as well as for the reconstruction of sailing of the Far East pioneers within the projects of The Far Eastern School Under Sails association.

Slavyanka is the first yacht in the sailing fleet of the NPO “Maritime Training Center "Sem Okeanov"”.

The yacht was taken over by FSUE “Rosmorport” in accordance with the order of the President of Russia, it is owned by the Russian Federation and has been transferred to the operational management of the MSU named after adm. G.I. Nevelskoy. The yacht will be used free of charge by NPO "Maritime Training Center "Sem Okeanov" in accordance with the objectives of this non-profit organization to promote and popularize long-distance sailing among the younger generation, introduce them to the maritime greatness of Russia in the world.

The yacht of the PV33 project was built in 2008 at the Nikolaev Shipyard (Nikolaev, Ukraine).
