Pilots of the Vanino Branch moor the vessel to the berth of the coal terminal in the seaport of Vanino

The pilot service of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Vanino Branch for the first time performed a pilotage and mooring assistance for a design vessel to the recently built berth No. 1 of pier No. 6 of the coal terminal in Muchke Bay of JSC "VaninoTransUgol" in the seaport of Vanino.

Pilotage and mooring of the bulker Victorius (flag of Great Britain) with a length of 289 meters, a width of 45 meters and a deadweight of more than 171 thousand tons to the berth was successfully performed on July 28, 2021 by Mikhail Kolner, the first category pilot of the Vanino Branch. Four port tugboats also participated in mooring operations.

The berth No. 1 of pier No. 6 of the marine coal terminal in the seaport of Vanino was commissioned in September 2020. To ensure the safe mooring, the Vanino Branch carried out the necessary dredging and in December 2020 commissioned the built operating water areas of berths No. 1 and No. 2 of the transshipment complex and the water area of the turning place with a total area of 28.7 hectares and bottom elevations of -19.3 meters, designed for maneuvering and movement of vessels. These measures allowed to carry out pilotage and safe mooring of vessels of SN-115 type with a length of 266 meters, a width of 40.5 meters and a load draught of 15.4 meters to the berths of the transshipment complex.

Currently, the Vanino Branch is carrying out operations of the 2nd stage of works on the construction of the operating water area of the berths of the transport and transshipment complex for coal transshipment. By the end of the construction of berth No. 2 of the transshipment complex the Vanino Branch is planning to complete the 2nd stage works of forming the operating water area of berth No. 2 and bringing the bottom elevations at the berths of the complex to -21.2 meters, which will allow vessels of up to 17.1 meters in draft to moor to the berths.
