North-Western Basin Branch organizes the release of salmon yearlings into the Neva River

On May 24, 2021 the FSUE "Rosmorport" North-Western basin branch in the presence of representatives of the state control and supervisory authorities released salmon yearlings into the Neva River.

Yearlings of salmon with an average weight of more than 27 gram in the amount of almost 3.9 thousand pieces were grown by a specialized fish breeding plant by order of the North-Western Basin Branch.

The release was carried out as part of the implementation of environmental measures to compensate for damage to aquatic biological resources and their habitat caused in 2020 during repair dredging works in the seaport of Ust-Luga.

The expenses of the North-Western Basin Branch for the cultivation and release of this batch of yearlings of salmon amounted to more than 2.3 million rubles.

In 2021 the branch is planning another release of young trout as part of environmental measures to compensate for the damage to aquatic bioresources and their habitat caused in 2020 during the repair dredging operations in the water areas of the seaports of the Big Port Saint Petersburg and Passenger Port Saint Petersburg.
