Automated radio technical post of the Kola Bay VTS comissioned in Ura Bay

In accordance with the Resolution of Closed Administrative-Territorial Entity Administration of Vidyaevo, a newly constructed automated radio technical post (ARTP) in Ura Bay was commissioned and integrated into the Kola Bay VTS.

The construction of the ARTP was carried out by the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch from April 2022 to January 2024 and took place in two phases.

In the first phase, an access road with a length of more than 4 km was built in a swampy area. The second phase included the construction of the ARTP itself, as well as construction of a 30-meter-high tower, installation of block containers for the placement of control operating room, diesel-electric unit and personnel, installation and commissioning of process equipment, and improvement of land.

The ARTP construction project was implemented at the expense of own funds of FSUE “Rosmorport” within the framework of the federal project “Development of Seaports” of the Comprehensive Plan for Modernization and Expansion of the Main Infrastructure for the period up to 2024 and the Plan of priority measures for the implementation of the investment project “Marine Transshipment Complex of Liquefied Natural Gas in the Murmansk Region”, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 04.26.2019 No. 834-R.

The new ARTP expands the Kola Bay VTS operation area and also will provide comprehensive maritime safety services in the water area of the Ura Bay using such technical facilities as a coastal radar station, coastal station of the automatic identification (information) system, and equipment for radio-telephone communication with vessels.

The commissioning of the ARTP in the Ura Bay will increase the level of ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of human life at sea in the water area of the liquefied natural gas transshipment terminal in the seaport of Murmansk.
