Makhachkala Branch begins dredging in the seaport of Makhachkala

On August 5, 2021, the Makhachkala Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" started repair dredging in the operating water area near the cordon of construction pier No. 6 in the seaport of Makhachkala.

In order to perform dredging works, which are carried out directly on the pier, the branch used its own excavator with a boom length of 8.2 meters and a submersible dredging pump with a mechanical disintegrator, which had successfully passed previous tests during commissioning operations.

During the repair dredging, it is planned to extract more than 1.2 thousand cubic meters of the bottom soil on an area of 0.07 hectares and bring the depth marks to design values of -5.5 meters.

As a result, vessels with a load draught of 4 meters will be able to safely moor to the construction pier No. 6.

The extracted soil is transported via a pulp line to the coastal dump at a distance of 150 meters.

The Makhachkala Branch performs dredging works in accordance with the approved project documentation for repair dredging in order to restore design dimensions of the water area and approach channels of the seaport of Makhachkala for 2019-2028. The project documentation had been considered and received a positive conclusion of the state environmental expertise, approved by order of the Rosprirodnadzor No. 333 as of 24.05.2019.
