Director of the Azov Basin Branch participates in a meeting of Maritime Council under the Government of the Rostov Region

Director of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Azov Basin Branch Andrei Vakhrushev took part in a meeting of the Maritime Council under the Government of the Rostov Region, which took place on July 8, 2021 via video conference chaired by Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Viktor Vovk.

Andrei Vakhrushev made a report on the state of the port infrastructure and measures to ensure safe, guaranteed year-round navigation conditions in the seaports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don.

During his speech, Andrei Vakhrushev said that the branch installs 220 aids of navigation in the waters of the seaports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don on 94 km of shipping lanes in the summer, and 116 in the winter.

The analysis of the results of the performed measurements of the navigation dimensions of the Azov-Don Sea shipping Channel showed that last year they were maintained in accordance with their passport values. The branch faces a similar task to ensure the navigation dimensions of the channel in the specified parameters this year. For this purpose, in 2021, it is planned to carry out repair dredging works in the amount of more than 225 thousand cubic meters at the ADMK.

Andrei Vakhrushev drew attention to the fact that the quantitative composition of the dredging equipment of the branch has been increased this year. In addition to the dredging convoy, which includes multi-pack dredger Kuban-2 and three hoper barges Odesskaya-6, Odesskaya-7 and Odesskaya-8, the branch fleet has been replenished with another dredging convoy, consisting of a multi-pack dredger Dniester and two barges Deltovaya-10 and Deltovaya-11. Besides, the branch additionally purchased the barge Taganrogskaya with a hold capacity of 400 cubic meters.

During his speech Andrei Vakhrushev noted that in 2020 the branch completed works on the creation of the coastal station “Taganrog” of the NAVTEX service. The created system includes a control center in the seaport of Taganrog, as well as a radio station in Veselo-Voznesenka village with a range of 240 nautical miles. The implementation of this project allows for the transmission of navigation, meteorological warnings, weather forecasts and other urgent information related to the safety of navigation on the Sea of Azov to vessels.
