Working meeting on summing up the results of winter navigation period of 2020-2021 in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog
On April 8, 2021, an offsite meeting of the director of the Azov Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrei Vakhrushev with members of the crew of the icebreaker fleet of the branch was held on board of the icebreaker Kapitan Demidov with the goal of summarizing the work performed during the winter navigation period of 2020-2021.
The participants in the meeting discussed issues related to the organization of icebreaking assistance for vessels, upcoming inter-navigation repairs, and established the main goals and objectives for the timely leavee of icebreakers for the beginning of the winter navigation period of 2021-2022.
Andrei Vakhrushev thanked the audience personally and conveyed the words of gratitude to the head of the FSBI "Administration of Seaports of the Sea of Azov" Sergey Safonichev for his coordinated and professional work in the field of providing icebreaking assistance for vessels in the freezing seaports of the Sea of Azov.
During the winter navigation period of 2020-2021, which lasted 101 days, 6 icebreakers of the Azov Basin Branch provided icebreaking assistance 140 times and piloted more than 3.6 thousand vessels to the corresponding seaports. The maximum length of icebreaking assistance during the winter navigation period 2020-2021 was 114 nautical miles.
