FSUE “Rosmorport” Azov Basin Branch takes part in the Branch Trial Championship of Professional Skill
Employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azov Basin Branch took part in the Trial Championship of Professional Skill in Rostov-on-Don on November 28-30, 2017. The championship was conducted under the WorldSkills Russia standards in the competence “Health and Safety on a Vessel”.
The tournament involved teams from the Sedov Waterborne Transport Institute, the Caspian Institute of Maritime and Inland Shipping, the Volga State Inland Shipping University and the Rybinsk Branch of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.
The contest included five modules:
- “The Survival at Sea in Case of Leaving a Vessel”;
-“The Fight Against the Fire and Fire Fighting Measures”;
-“The Fight Against the Subdivision of Ships”;
-“Immediate Measures in Case of an Accident or Other Situation Requiring Medical Assistance”;
- “Mooring Operations”.
Each module includes a set of tasks to help evaluate knowledge and skills of contestants when a corresponding situation arises.
Following the results of the competitions all participants were awarded diplomas for the active participation in the championship.
WorldSkills is an international non-commercial movement aimed at increasing the prestige of blue-collar jobs and developing professional education through organizing and conducting competitions of professional skill in separate countries of the world and round the world as a whole. Russia joined WorldSkills in 2012. Over the five years the Young Professionals Group (WorldSkills Russia) organized at least 300 regional, corporate and national championships that had involved over 90,000 contestants.
