Acting Director of the Astrakhan Branch Vladimir Gudkov took part in the third session of the Russian Federation State Council working group, devoted to preparation of the State Council presidium on “Development of inland waterways in the Russian Federation”.

The third session of the working group was held on July 15, 2016 in video gate mode and was chaired by the Russian Federation State Council Secretary, Aide to the President Igor Levitin.

At the meeting there were discussed various issues on condition and development of hydraulic technical facilities, problems of infrastructure restriction on inland waterways, infrastructure quality, increasing the competitiveness of river transport.

Deputy Minister of Transport – Head of the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport Viktor Olersky presented working group report draft, where the current condition of inland waterways was analyzed, problematic issues were considered and suggestions on their addressing taking into account interests of different branches of economy were presented.

The working group session participants generally approved the report draft, having noted that the complex addressing of current issues will allow to ensure effective use of inland waterways in Russia.
