The Astrakhan Branch Releases the Russian Sturgeon and Carp Fry into the Volga River

As a part of the implementation of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch   environmental protection activities relating to compensation for damage to aquatic bioresources and their habitat by the repair dredging works conducted in the water area of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya and on the Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal in 2014, in the presence of representatives of the state control and supervisory bodies in the period of 21 to 28 October 2015,more than 55 thousand fingerlings of Russian sturgeon and more than 1.1 million fingerlings of carp were released into the river.

The release of the Russian sturgeon fry breeded by the specialized fish-breeding companies of the Astrakhan region for the Astrakhan Branch with an average weight of 3 grams, took place into the watercourse of the Volga river into the Bakhtemir river, near the village of Ikryanoye, Ikryaninsky district of the Astrakhan region, and the fry of common carp with an average weight of  15 grams, released into the watercourse of the Volga river, into the Old Volga river, near the village of Chagan, Kamyzyaksky district of the Astrakhan region.

The expenditure  of the Astrakhan Branch on breeding and release of the Russian sturgeon and carp fry into the Volga river this year have amounted to more than 3 million rubles.
