On 25 March 2015 representatives from the Astrakhan Branch participated in solemn presentation of Jubilee Medals “Seventy Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” to veterans and homefront workers of the Great Patriotic War, which took place in Trosovo area of Astrakhan city.

Veterans were awarded by representatives from the city administration and public organization for veterans of war, labour, armed forces and law enforcement bodies.

Children’s musical groups of the city also prepared performance and Astrakhan Branch representatives presented gifts to the veterans and homefront workers.   

The Master of Kapitan Chechkin icebreaker Petr Grachyev greeted valiant defenders of the motherland with a word of salutation in which he expressed gratitude for invaluable contribution to victory under fascism they made on the front and home front. Petr Grachyev wished the veterans strong health and, on the behalf of the Astrakhan Branch, invited them to the festive occasion the Astrakhan Branch plans to hold on 9 May in a park of Astrakhan city in the framework of celebration of the Victory Day.
