Far Eastern Basin Branch releases juvenile chum salmon into the Brusya River in the Primorsky Territory

On April 25, 2024, the release of juvenile chum salmon, grown by order of the Eastern Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch at a specialized fish farm, took place.

Over 160 thousand pieces of juvenile chum salmon with an average weight of more than 0.6 g were released into the Brusya River in the Primorsky Krai in the presence of representatives of state control and supervisory authorities.

The environmental event was held in order to compensate for damage to aquatic biological resources and their habitat during repair dredging operations performed in 2022 in the water areas of the seaports of Vostochny and Nakhodka.

The expenses of the Far Eastern Basin Branch to compensate for damage to aquatic biological resources and their habitat within this environmental event amounted to more than 1,6 million rubles.

In accordance with the plans for the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources in 2024, agreed with the Federal Agency for Fishery of the Russian Federation, this release will be the only one within the framework of the implementation of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of the compensation program for this year.
